The “COVID years” have been tough for folks who love to travel. For a big chunk of 2020, I didn’t even want to think about travel – it made me too sad. I’m eager to get back out in the world, and I want to encourage others to do the same. I’m excited to announce a couple new endeavors – a monthly newsletter and a monthly webinar. These will be a chance to talk about travel, share travel tips, and help to rekindle the excitement we’ve been missing for the last two years.
If you’re interested in joining in, subscribe to the newsletter. You can always check the newsletter archives and the webinar archives (coming soon) to catch up.
I’ve tried to address some questions you might have below.
Q: Is this a business? A side hustle?
History has shown that I’m chronically bad at turning things into businesses. I like thinking about travel, talking about travel, and encouraging others to travel. I really believe in the importance of the connections we build via travel. And since this is opt-in, maybe folks around me in real life will be spared my insistent travel banter (probably not).
Q: Does this make you a travel influencer?
I’m not planning to be a personality. And I’m not going to start taking trips just to generate content. I’m allergic to a lot of the activities that are necessary to be successful in that space, and I’m too old to learn how to use TikTok.
Q: Is this all a scam to get invited on press junkets and stuff?
I mean, it’s not not that. (seriously? No. Those sound horrible)
Q: Colin, this sounds kinda pretentious and preachy
